We have set up this blog to give us an opportunity to tell some of the everyday stories of life as a local politician.
Between now and the elections in May (and long after that) we will be looking for you to tell us and the readers of this blog what it is like to be a local politician and, in particular, how you are using the internet to reach out and engage with local communities in ways that were previously not possible. We will then be sharing all the best stories here on this blog – so keep make sure you subscribe to our regular newsletter to hear more.
There are three ways which you can do this:
1. Put it in the (e-)mail
Why not drop us an email with your story. You can include photos, video, or just a quick bit of text to tell us how you are connecting with local residents online – or else the difficulties you are finding and the frustrations you are facing.
2. Post it online yourself
Post a video on YouTube, a photo on Flickr, a podcast through Audioboo, or, most likely, send us a tweet via Twitter tagged (labelled) with the word ‘TweetyHall’ (or #TweetyHall in the case of Twitter). Once you have done that, we should easily be able to find your story without you even needing to let us know (although feel free to tweet us and let us know to expect it as well!).
3. Let us come to you
If you’ve got something to say but would rather we did the leg work for you, please do get in touch. We are looking to do a number of interviews over the coming weeks in the run up to the elections in particular and we would be happy to schedule a time to come and speak with you (resources permitting of course!). Tell how you are using the internet to connect with people in your area – or else the difficulties you are facing too of course!
